These are a Set of Wars that occurred between the Russian Federation's Foundation in 1482, and the end of the 16th century. The Muscovo-Novgorodian-Golden Horde war may be considered part of it as Moscow and Novgorod fought united against an invading Mongol force. One of the main reasons behind these was the blocking of expansion and self defence. Mongol Khanates were seen as a threat that needed to be removed.
