Queen Saya (女王サヤ, Joō Saya), or simply Saya, was the Queen of the Saiyans and the mother of Vegeta. Like all members of the Saiyan Royal family, Queen Saya's name is a pun of the word vegetables. In this case, her name comes from "yasai", the Japanese word for vegetables. By extension,her name is also an indirect pun of "saiya-jin".
