A best-selling book describing the the Beauty Shop Slasher murders was written by Los Angeles Times journalist Joel Bremmer. It was based on a case solved by Harry Bosch and his unnamed partner at that time. The slasher, Harvard Kendal, killed seven women, all beauty shop owners or employees, in one year in the San Fernando Valley.
