Regia Maldonado was a female human and reporter for the Federation News Service. In 2379, Maldonado attended a press conference where Kant Jorel, the Federation Council's liason to the press, announced the candidates for the special election for the President of the United Federation of Planets. Maldonado asked why, if former president Min Zife had been considering resignation for months, hadn't the press heard anything about it.
