Antioch Peverell (1210 - 1237) was a wizard from Godric's Hollow. When the hot-tempered Antioch was 23 years old, he lost his wand in a duel. He then stole another wand out of the shop of Allectus Livingston, a local wandmaker. This wand, for no apparent reason, was one of extraordinary power. Antioch realized this when he easily killed the much more skilled, much more honorable wizard who had bettered him before. Later that night, after much racous boasting of his grand new wand, his throat was slit in his sleep, and the wand taken from him. Even though Antioch would be long forgotten, his wand, the Elder Wand, became the stuff of legends.
