The High Priests were a group of users that read over, checked and reviewed good article nominations, as well as oversaw good articles to ensure they were up to standards, before voting as to whether or not good article status should be given to an article. The High Priests reviewed and gave constructive criticism for articles until they were fixed up to meet good article requirements, and once those criticisms were rectified then the High Priests voted on whether or not the article should have become a good article. In order to become a good article, at least four High Priests must have approved, along with ten general community voters.
