The Taxi Driver took Bob and Craig Whitely to Manchester Airport in December 1982 for their flight to Australia to begin a new life there. He collected them from 9 Coronation Street where Craig's tearful grandparents, Chalkie Whitely and Phyllis Pearce, were waiting miserably for their departure. The driver came into the house to help with the cases but Chalkie managed to carry the remainder to the waiting car himself.
