Cafe Rene is the local cafe in Nouvion, owned and serviced by Rene and Edith Artois. It is frequented by the local civilians and the occupying force of German soldiers. Early in the war it is used as a secret base for the French Resistance, lead by Michelle Dubois, as they attempt to smuggle stranded British airmen out of France.
