Emirate is a title given to some high-ranking Transformer leaders. The title is political, not military. The Emirates were prominent government figures prior to the Great War. What exactly being an Emirate entails and how one becomes one is unknown. There is some suggestion that an Emirate may be responsible for a certain territory (see Trivia), as Xeon was apparently responsible for governance of Kaon.
