Eithne, or Ethy, was born an only child of a well-known Sarian family on Caspar. She was taught by private tutors in business and ettiquette in hopes that she would take over the family's prestige and continue the line of integrity in the family. Her parents introduced her to many of the eligible young men in hopes she would settle down on Caspar, but Eithne needed to explore the universe and see everything there was to see before settling down. Her parents, having that same desire and having explored the universe themselves, sent her into the galaxy to find her way.
