CC-9417, nicknamed "Eel", was a clone SCUBA trooper captain who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He led the 193rd Legion, a unit of SCUBA troopers under command of Jedi Master Kypor Vao, a Mon Calamari. In an operation on an unnamed sea planet, he fought a successful guerrilla war against the Separatist occupation force, and became notorious to CIS commanders for evading many traps and ambushes that they set up for him. For that, CC-9417 earned the nickname "the Eel", and it ended up being used by his Jedi commander.
