Before enrolling at Shibusen, Anya lived in a castle with her family. She lived a very strict and rather restricted life, and desiring freedom and wanting to learn about common people, she got out of her castle (whether she ran away or forced her parents to let her go is not revealed) and attended Death Weapon Meister Academy.
