The White Tower of Ecthelion was the tall tower in the Citadel of Minas Tirith, on top of which was the banner of Gondor that went one thousand feet into the air. The thrones of the King and the Steward of Gondor were inside the tower, and Denethor II in the Third Age secretively kept his Palantir in the uppermost story.
