When Scott defeats the many enemies that he has to face (mainly members of the League of Ramona's Evil Ex-Boyfriends), they often leave behind a pile of coins and sometimes an item for Scott Pilgrim. This is a reference to many different video games. What Scott does with these rewards is never specified. In fact, from Lucas Lee onwards, Scott is never seen picking up the coins he wins in battle.
