The Horned Devil, also known as the R.GOYLE in the Nintendo Entertainment System version, is an enemy in the original Final Fantasy. Horned Devils are quick; even faster than their Gargoyle counterparts, and can attack up to four times per round, with their physical attacks inflicting Paralysis. In addition, they are capable of casting Fire, Fira, and Hold spells. They have elemental resistances to both Fire and Ice, but due to their low HP and physical Defense, they can be defeated easily with one or two hits. However, they have a relatively high magic resistance, making it a waste of effort and MP to use magic against them.
