The 1966 Wilkes 400 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 2, 1966. Fred Lorenzen dominated much of the race, but fell out with 94 laps to go due to engine failure, leaving Dick Hutcherson to win the event.
