Real Kritosaurus were medium-sized North American hadrosaurs. The first remains of this dinosaur were found in the United States in 1904 by the famous American paleontologist Barnum Brown. The only known material of this dinosaur consists of its skull. For a long time Kritosaurus was thought to be the same dinosaur as the closely related Gryposaurus, although this is no longer the case. However, little is known about this species. It lived during the Late Cretaceous at 73 million years ago. Like all hadrosaurs, it could chew its food using rows of small, tightly packed teeth. Its name means "separated lizard".
