If you make a Mapmaker map with patrolling Story AI, and set one of their patrol points at an inaccessible position, they will all leave their positions and go straight for you wherever, despite where you are. This also occurs if an AI cannot get back to their path after moving off of it to 'inspect' the body of a recently dead ally.
