A MIDI message that request that the receiver execute its auto tune function. Not widely implemented; it is found mainly in polyphonic analog synths from the late 1980s on. The tune request is categorized as a real-time message in the MIDI standard. Despite this, it should not be sent embedded in another message, and about 30 seconds should be allowed before the receiving synth will respond to another message.
