Ceremonial Embrace, is a Finnish black metal band with a heavy synth sound and distinct power metal influence. They were formed in the winter of 1996 as a heavy metal act under the name Chastise. In 1998 the group reformed their style and name, and, after a number of demos and lineup changes, put out their first major release, Beyond the Oblivion, on April 11th, 1999. This was followed by their only full length release, Oblivion, in 2001.
