St. Amahl was a saint of the god Ilmater. He was the Ilmatari saint of nomads, especially those who wandered the desert. The Friary of St. Amahl was a caravanserai-turned-monastery in the Calim Desert of Calimshan, named for St. Amahl. The monks believed their well would never run dry "while St. Amahl watches over us."
