The USS Robert A. Heinlein was a Federation starship in the 23rd century, commanded by Hikaru Sulu. The ship was the subject of a simulation designed to substitute the Kobayashi Maru test. In the simulation, On stardate 1456.67, the ship went missing, and the USS Enterprise was sent to find it, in the 140 Trianguli region. (TOS video game: The Kobayashi Alternative). The Heinlein was preceded by another starship to bear the name, the 22nd century Daedalus-class Heinlein which participated in the Earth-Romulan War. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
