Agathocles (361 – 289 BC), (Greek name Ἀγαθοκλῆς (Agathokles): derived from αγαθός (agathos) good and κλέος (kleos) glory), was a Greek tyrant of Syracuse (317–289 BC) and king of Sicily (304–289 BC).
