Detective Bellany is one of many homicide detectives working in the Miami Homicide Department. He is assigned to FBI Agent Frank Lundy's Task Force in an attempt to find out who the Bay Harbor Butcher is. He's identified via a blackboard in the background, being assigned to Marcus White numbered 18. Although he is not officially announced, it is assumed he along with several others were merely added later to investigate the bodies victim's past.
