The USS Ares originated in the AOL sponsored simming forum Spacefleet Online as the USS Richard Galen and moved to the Ares in November 2001 after the Galen was damaged. In January 2003 the Ares moved to the USF due to turmoil and degradation in SFOL. The SIM itself lasts for one hour on Sunday nights from 10:30 - 11:30 PM EST (7:30 PM - 8:30 PM PST).
