Ray Polhill played footballer Wayne Farrell intermittently in Coronation Street from July 1992 to February 1994. He trained at the Webber Douglas Academy, graduating in 1986. A year-long tour with the Channel theatre company in Ramsgate followed and he made his television debut in The Bill in 1987 and then a regular role in the series Waterfront Beat. He has also appeared in Trainer, London's Burning, EastEnders, Night and Day, Emmerdale and Holby City. On film he has appeared in All Things to All Men while his stage work includes This Happy Breed and Green Parakeet.
