IG-50 combat droids were special droids designed by the Banking Clan for close combat attacks against the Jedi. Darth Sidious also requested the Banking Clan to construct these droids out of phrik alloys to have a higher success rate in taking out Jedi. These droids lasted long in the Clone Wars, even though they were deactivated permanently after one year of their creation. Although some were deactivated, they fell into the hands of the early Galactic Empire as combat droids used to handle any Jedi who survived Order 66. They later inspired the Imperial Dark Troopers by Rom Mohc.
