When Neg captured the Ithorian child Tomo, Qui-Gon Jinn was enlisted by the boy's desperate mother to rescue him. The Jedi attempted to rescue Tomo from his cage quietly, but the monster broke out of its own cage and attacked, forcing Qui-Gon to kill it.
