The Universe (UV) series is a line of electric guitar models manufactured by Ibanez, first introduced in 1990. It is the seven-string guitar signature series of guitarist Steve Vai, accompanying his six-string guitar signature series, the Ibanez JEM series. With the introduction in 1990, the Ibanez Universe models were the first seven-string electric guitars issued by a major company.
