The Seabright & District Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1967. Before that, the Seabright area had been covered by the Black Point Volunteer Fire Department. In 1996, it and the other fire departments of Halifax County were amalgamated to form the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Service.
