Stephanie McCann (b. 1983) grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended the University of Ohio. From June to September of 2005, she served an internship at The Weekly Islander on Moose-Lookit Island, Maine. In August of 2005, Vince Teague and Dave Bowie told her the story of the "Colorado Kid."
