The State of Sawatch (/səˈwætʃ/; (Spanish: Saguache /saˈɣwatʃe/) is one of the 11 first-order subdivisions of Rio Blanco. It was established in 1893, after being separated from Ouray and El Paso. It has a population of 98,374, making it the second-least populated state of Rio Blanco, behind Sioux.
