Barkwaifs were a variety of waif found in the Nightwoods. They were mentioned in Midnight Over Sanctaphrax. Cowlquape could not hear the barkwaifs, but Woodfish could and said their were other waifs too such as Flitterwaifs, Waterwaifs and Nightwaifs.
