Byodoin isn't that interested in Ryoma. He gets all cocky on being able to defeat Byodoin. Tokugawa tells Ryoma not to interfere. Other members of the audience are shocked that Tokugawa still wants to continue playing. Tokugawa is only one point away from winning against Byodoin. The match resumes. Despite being unconscious he's still able to hit the ball with his racket. Ryoma returns Byodoin's shot. It grazes Byodoin on his cheek and breaks the wall behind him. The audience are all shocked.
