The ionite edge was an enhanced melee weapon edge that had been augmented by the addition of an ion ionite alloy. The inverse charge created by this alloy created a disrupting effect to any surrounding electronic systems, most notably droids. This edge had been available in several versions ranging from basic to superior, depending on the strength of the ion charge.
