A seventeenth century merchant in Exchange Alley, near the Royal Exchange, in London, selling tobacco, coffee and tea - of which he was the first importer in the UK. (Tea had been popularised by Catherine of Braganza, wife of King Charles II, who had brought some over in her dowry).
