The Cult of the Red Man was a group of Qwardians from the Anti-Matter Universe who came to worship the Korugarian Sinestro as their champion and greatest warrior. After the apparent destruction of the Green Lantern Corps, it was Sinestro who believed that the Guardians of the Universe would one day restore that organization. In order to prevent that from happening, they began recruiting the most incompetent of beings and claimed gave them Power Rings with Anti-Oan energy.
