Appearing only in Love Hina: Mystery Guests at Hinata Hotel, Takeshi Kodaira was the son of a real estate agency businessman who often joked that Hina Urashima kept treasure in the abandoned annex as the reason for why she repeatedly refused to sell the land on which the run-down annex was built. Following his father's death the agency began to fail following a recession and Takeshi, now in his early thirties, planned to find this treasure that his father kept mentioning in order to save his business. Posing as guest in the Hinata House, his driven attempt to find the treasure resulted in him coming into contact with the ghost of Yoko Urashima.
