Balthasar Sinapis was a colonel in the Atlantean Army during the Atlantean Servile Insurrection. An immigrant from Eastern Europe who cursed in Greek when exasperated, Sinapis was haunted by the memories of battles waged in his native continent. Despite the fractious debate in Atlantean society over the question of slavery, Sinapis did not convey any viewpoint on the matter, preferring to concentrate on military strategy rather than politics (though Consul Jeremiah Stafford suspected him to be against slavery).
