Cars featured in Need for Speed: Underground 2 can be acquired in career mode using a garage slot. A garage slot in unlocked for the player once they reach a new stage of the career mode, with a total of five being offered. A garage slot can be filled by driving to one of the various Car Lots found across Bayview. An already owned car can be sold to create a free slot for another car. Unlocking a car for acquisition in career mode will also make it available to be customised and modified, within the Customize section of the main menu, for use in Quick Race and online multiplayer.
