Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is an American environmental activist, author, businessperson, former politician, Nobel laureate, and former journalist. He was the forty-fifth Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. Gore also starred in the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth, which won an Academy Award in 2007. Gore is the recipient of a number of awards including the Nobel Peace Prize (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007, a Primetime Emmy Award for Current TV in 2007, and a Webby Award in 2005.
