The rulebook for the first edition of Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game was published by West End Games in October 1987. It contains rules and guidelines for gamemasters and players, character templates, tips on how to design adventures and an example adventure called "Rebel Breakout." This book, alongside The Star Wars Sourcebook, was later reissued by Fantasy Flight Games as part of Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game: 30th Anniversary Edition, being recreated to be an exact replica of the original book.
