Originally constructed as a small wooden fort in a vain attempt to defend against Saint-King Alen Capewell’s invading armies, the current iteration of Evergreen Keep is simply the last in a long line of castles that have shared its name and location. When Alen had conquered the Arbor, he and his men noted the excellent defensive position their adversary’s fort had stood on and implored the populace to construct a stone fortress in its place to serve as both a way to safeguard the mountain pass and to remind the locals of his victory.
