The Ancient era began with the discovery of writing. Before this discovery your civilization will still be part of the Pre-Historic era. Usually players in this age will start off with a wandering (nomadic) settler and wish to make a nice first impression of there neighbors if they are lucky enough to discover any. After you select a nice spot for your city you begin to grow your empire or civilization. Because of the length and depth of the Classical age this page will mainly focus on the early ancient period.
