The contest first started in March 2011 with the opening of the Avatar Arena. It was announced that the winner of the contest would receive a Prize crown and art of their winning avatar from the art team. Because of the high value prize the entry fee was put in place to avoid entry spam. Despite a general distaste of the entry fee the contest has been popular.
