At the end of the 2008-2009 school year, Pittsburgh Frick 6-8 closed and became a defunct school. The school would move to a new location, Reizenstein, with different grades, 6-12, and be called Pittsburgh Obama Academy of International Studies 6-12. The promotion speech from Erik Rauterkus was the final promotion speech ever for Frick.
