A Gasifier was a mining tool used in the mines of the asteroid Oovo IV. It used a high-energy beam to turn rock into plasma, and then sucked the plasma up into a carbonite nanofiber tube that sent the plasma to the surface of the planet; the gas was then vented into the atmosphere.
