Akira Toriyama is the writer of Dragon Ball and its sequel, Dragon Ball Z. However, he did not write Dragon Ball GT, though he did contribute to the series with the first inital concept fo the Black Star Dragon Balls, the designs of all the main characters/main cast, and the design for the logo of Dragon Ball GT.
