Plebes were the social class of commoners or ordinary citizens of the planet Barrayar, and were subordinate to the ruling Vor class. Unlike the Vor, the plebes on Barrayar could not carry weapons unless serving in the Barrayaran Imperial Service or serving a District Count as one of his armsmen. Another term for plebes was proles.
