After the formation of a personal union between J Andres and Vinsalia under Phillippe, many Vinsalians were not pleased with the new combined political system, and they formed a political party to try to wrest control from the J Andres factions. The Vinsalian National Party (VNP) wanted to leave J Andres and self-govern. Additionally, they wanted to be free from hereditary rulers and live in a true representative democracy.
